Please join us in the initial conversations about how arts and cultural practice can support the Better Health Outcomes across Coventry and Warwickshire.

This is in preparation for Coventry’s year as the UK City of Culture in 2021, in line with Coventry’s Cultural Strategy and in response to the All Party Parliamentary Group Creative Health Inquiry Report. You can read the report here.

This first event of Coventry and Warwickshire Creative Health Alliance (CWCHA), focuses on combating isolation and ageing well. The morning sessions will have a specific focus on Dementia, Palliative and End of Life Care, while the afternoon will have a specific focus on Loneliness and Isolation and Social Prescribing.

The day will include:
• Key note speaker Victoria Hume, Director of National Culture Health and Wellbeing Alliance. Find out more about the alliance here
• Workshops that explore how culture can support: Social Prescribing, Falls Prevention and living well with long-term health conditions (including SMK, respiratory conditions, dementia)
• Extracts that exemplify the impact of arts practice on health
• Lunch is provided for all ticket types, served 12:30pm-1pm.

Join the emerging CWCHA as we share local and national good practice and explore policy developments that bring together colleagues in arts, health and policy making and help us build the foundations for the development of arts for health activities in the sub-region.

We have aimed to keep the costs at a reasonable rate, but if you would like to attend but feel the ticket price is a barrier for you, we have a limited number of bursaries available to cover the cost of an all -day ticket. To apply, please email Alice at with 4 sentences explaining why the symposium would be beneficial for your practice.

Join us. Whether it is for the morning, the afternoon, or the entire day. We look forward to you being a valued contributor to these important conversations that will impact future policy and practice.

The Arts and Health Symposium is open to both freelancers and members of organisations.
