In City Final, nine groups led by the Belgrade’s Community & Education team invite audiences on a journey back in time to the days when the building was filled with the hustle and bustle of busy newsrooms.

Drawing on stories covered by the Coventry Evening Telegraph over the years, a series of short performances will fill multiple floors of the building in a large-scale promenade experience.

As well as reliving headlines from across the decades, the show also offers audiences the chance to explore the building itself for one last time before a major redevelopment sees it transformed into a hotel later in the year.

There are two different routes around this promenade performance: Route A and Route B. Route A includes several staircases with few opportunities to sit down. If you are in a wheelchair or have other mobility or access issues, we recommend you book for Route B, which is all on one level and more accessible. Wheelchair spaces are limited to 10 per performance, so early booking is advised. The smallest doorway on Route B is 791mm wide.

Audiences on Route A will be divided and allocated to different starting points in the building. We cannot guarantee that groups of bookers will all be kept together, but your prompt arrival will increase the chances of this being possible.

Please note the following information:
This is a site-specific, promenade show and will involve walking around an old building which has been disused for a number of years and may be cold even in summer. Please come dressed appropriately with sensible shoes. The building poses a number of challenges regarding access and we are doing everything we can to make it as accessible as possible for audiences. If you have concerns about accessibility or any specific access requirements that we need to be aware of, please contact Box Office either in person or via 024 7655 3055.

Age recommendation: 12+

We are aiming for the performance to last around 1hr 15mins.

These performances are part of the Coventry Great Place project supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England, Coventry University, University of Warwick, Coventry City Council and Coventry Business Improvement District.
