The Inspiring Curiosity Conference, marking the 50th Anniversary of Theatre in Education (TiE), will explore the relationship between theatre, education and learning, from the early inception of TiE at the Belgrade in 1965, through to current practise, and then to hopes, models and opportunities for the future.

The Inspiring Curiosity conference brings together a wide range of practitioners and academics to share some of the most cutting-edge ideas and practises in the interface between theatre and learning. Building on the strong foundations of Theatre in Education, the conference will explore a wide range of participatory practises that have emerged over the last fifty years, and ask pertinent questions about what the future holds for drama, theatre and learning, particularly in the lives of children and young people.

DAY 1 – Wednesday 21st October – What can we learn from TiE’s past?

Day One will explore the ways in which TiE has impacted on theatre & education practise for the last 50 years, providing delegates with the opportunity to both experience and discuss a range of participatory practices. Find out more

DAY 2 – Thursday 22nd October – Theatre & Learning: Inseparable in our Future?

Day Two will explore the role of theatre in developing voice, agency and social impact. It will include a series of provocations put together by young people for artists, educators, researchers and policy makers with a view to considering the future of theatre and learning for the next 50 years.
