The New Black Showcase is back for its sixth year, platforming exciting new plays by graduates from our latest Critical Mass writers programme. Critical Mass is a course offered in partnership with Euphoric Ink for writers from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee backgrounds.

A father believes God has instructed him that it’s time to marry his daughter off within his community, if not he will lose the reputation he’s worked hard for, but unexpectedly his best friend, his daughter accuses him of twisting the words of God. Will his conscience allow him to see the reality of his Gods words or has he found a chink in his daughters armour? Who is pick n mixing?

Confetti follows three young people, Alia, Remi and Idris, during the 24 hours after their best friend has gone missing. As time runs out, loyalties are questioned, violence is used as a form of revolution, and the truth of what really happened that night unravels some dark secrets.
