In Shakespeare’s smartest and most farcical play, The Comedy of Errors, two sets of estranged twins separated at birth find themselves in the same city 25 years later, with hilarious consequences.

A series of mistaken identities, assumed personas and wild mishaps bring a family crisis – so complicated that time itself loses the plot – into heart-warming focus.

Fortunately the audience is always one step ahead.

Led by Edward Hall, Propeller is an all-male Shakespearian ensemble with a proven track record for high quality and contemporary productions of the great playwright’s work. Combining a typically rigorous approach to the text with fast-paced, high energy action, Propeller promises a double bill of comedy and enchantment this February with The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

No other company brings Shakespeare to life like they do. They make these wonderful plays not only accessible but genuinely exciting; enthusing audiences of all ages. With fantastic music performed live on stage, their performances are unique, energetic and highly engaging. It’s like Shakespeare has been reinvented without losing any sense of the works’ heritage and historical value.

This is now their fifth visit. They first performed here in November 2010 with Richard III and returned the following year with a double bill, The Comedy of Errors and Richard III. In 2012, we saw them perform to their biggest audiences yet with The Winter’s Tale and Henry V in the Spring, and Twelfth Night in the Autumn.

Running time: two hours and ten minutes including interval.

Book for The Comedy of Errors as part of our Classic Comedy Package and get tickets for FOUR other plays from The Alchemist, A Lady of Little Sense, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Don Gil of the Green Breeches and Punishment Without Revenge for JUST £45!
