An amazing donation to Making Memories!

Posted on 1 November 2017

One of our wonderful Producers’ Circle members, William McEvoy, has been busy all year collecting £2 coins to donate to our Making Memories campaign.

Last week, William hit his target of £1,000, and brought the coins in to us in an enormous coffee tin!

We asked him why the campaign means so much to him:

“I just want to give something back to the community, and make sure local children have opportunities I didn’t have when I was young. Every child should be able to visit the theatre at Christmas.”

William’s £1,000 gets us well on our way to our target of £7,200, but there’s still a very long way to go.

If you’d like to make a donation, no matter how big or small, please click here.

Your donations go directly towards providing panto tickets to local children, like Laila

Laila lives in Coventry with her mum and four older brothers and one younger sister. The family have recently returned to the city, after escaping domestic violence, and are living in a two-bedroom flat until a more permanent home can be found. Laila is a bright and friendly little girl, but has found it difficult to cope with her step-father’s suicide last year. Laila is just 6 years of age and has never been to a pantomime.

Laila’s name has been changed, but her story is real.

Donations made through Local Giving or via Box Office will be acknowledged on one of our gorgeous, glittering ‘glass slippers’, hanging in the windows of our first floor foyer.

The Belgrade Theatre Trust (Coventry) Ltd is a registered charity (no 219163)
