Baking Memories Bake Off

#WellDone Wednesday

Yesterday, as part of #GivingTuesday Belgrade staff and volunteers had a cake filled lunch at the first ever Baking Memories Bake Off.

Several staff members competed to become Star Baker, Willie Crumble (aka Craig Hollingsworth) acted as our Mary Berry and was so impressed with the cakes on offer he selected 3 Star Bakers:

  • 1st place: Chocolate and Nutella Cake, made by Sarah from Box Office
  • 2nd place: Red Velvet Cake, made by Sairah from Communications
  • 3rd place: Ginger Swiss Roll, made by David from Development

After stuffing their faces with cake, staff managed to raise £149.51, which will be generously matched by Barclays Bank (Coventry)*, increasing the amount raised to an amazing £299.02.

The Bake Off was held to raise funds for our Making Memories campaign, which aims to provide up to 400 free tickets to the theatre’s annual pantomime – Beauty and the Beast for families facing financial hardship at Christmas. In total 6 families will be supported as a result of the Baking Memories Bake Off.

With just three weeks left to raise £2,500 all donations to Making Memories are welcome. Your support will provide families in need free access to the Belgrade pantomime, so that they too can experience the joy, excitement and escapism of theatre at this magical time of year
