Gearing Up For Our First Ever Dementia Friendly Performance!

Posted on 17 November 2017

We’re excited for the Belgrade’s first ever dementia friendly performance this Saturday. Vamos Theatre’s Finding Joy is about a woman called Joy who is funny, loves to dance and is losing her memory and her bright and rebellious grandson Danny.

This Saturday 18 November matinee performance of this highly moving show will tailored to meet the needs of those living with dementia and make the performance and theatre visit more comfortable for them, their family, friends and carers in a relaxed and supportive environment. We have additional volunteers coming in, we’ve changed some of our lay out and added additional signage to make the environment for accommodating for those living with dementia.

The lights won’t be dimmed in the auditorium, and people can move around if they wish, including going in and out of the auditorium during the show, making the performance as relaxed as possible for everyone.

We’re really looking forward to tomorrow’s show and looking forward to more dementia friendly performances to come!
