#GivingTuesday 2017

Posted on 28 November 2017

Today is #GivingTuesday – a global day of giving, whereby people are encouraged to support charities – so we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to those who have donated to our Making Memories campaign.

Thanks to your generosity, we have already raised an amazing 60% of our Making Memories target and welcomed 80 local families in need to the Belgrade to watch our panto Cinderella.

We’ve received nearly 170 applications from families facing terrible hardship. So we’d like to ask for your support on #GivingTuesday, to help more children like Laila…

Laila lives in Coventry with her mum and four older brothers and one younger sister. The family have recently returned to the city, after escaping domestic violence, and are living in a two-bedroom flat until a more permanent home can be found. Laila is a bright and friendly little girl, but has found it difficult to cope with her step-father’s suicide last year. Laila is just 6 years of age and has never been to a pantomime.

A donation of £15 will help one child and £60 will support a local family with tickets to the Belgrade this Christmas. However, we are extremely grateful for whatever level of support you can give.

Other ways to support the Belgrade, include:

  • Buying tickets for any of our shows
  • Treating yourself, or someone you love, to an afternoon tea in our café
  • Spreading the word about the free theatre groups available and our work in the community
  • Raising awareness about our work with older people through our Arts Gymnasium project
  • Becoming an Individual or Corporate Member
  • Hiring our space out for a special event or conference
  • Making a donation to support our work both on and off the stage

Thank You

The Belgrade Theatre Trust is a registered charity (number 219163). This means that all the money given, raised or earned is not distributed as profit but kept and reinvested in the work that we do.
