Make your donation go further on Gift Aid Awareness Day

Today is Gift Aid Awareness Day!

Don’t know what Gift Aid means? Gift Aid is a valuable source of income that enables charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated by UK taxpayers. Claiming an extra 25% on donations is extremely beneficial for all charities, although lots of people still don’t know about it, and a gigantic £560 million in Gift Aid goes unclaimed every year.

Thanks to the amazing support the Belgrade received last year, we were able to claim £5,500 in Gift Aid to help support our work in the community, such as our participation programmes for children and older people. For instance, receiving an extra £5,500 means we would be able to support two more young people on our Lifestage programme, helping those who may not be fulfilling their potential in mainstream education and at risk of exclusion. Alternatively, the same amount could pay for an extra four Big School workshops, helping year six pupils to deal with their anxieties about taking the step up from primary to secondary school.

At the Belgrade we are reliant on the generous support of our donors, members, sponsors, corporate partners and audiences. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has kindly supported us in our sixtieth year and as we prepare to take the title of UK City of Culture in 2021.

To take your support one step further, remember to declare your eligibility for Gift Aid by simply ticking a box on a donation form or speaking to a member of the Development Team.

Thank you
