Transforming the City - EDG Property joins our Directors' Club

Posted on 22 March 2019

This Spring, we’re thrilled to introduce award-winning developer EDG Property as the newest member of our Directors’ Club.

The West Midlands-based developer has been overseeing the transformation of the neighbouring 1950s Co-Op building into an exciting new mixed-use destination, including a collection of high-spec apartments with a private, internal residents’ park and members’ lounge.

EDG Property Managing Director Neil Edginton said: “The former department store is now a local landmark which has proudly served Coventry for over half a century. Situated centrally, directly opposite Belgrade Theatre, our redevelopment has transformed one of the city’s most notable buildings into an amazing new residential address, which has been really well received.

“More than 60% of the apartments have been sold off-plan and April will see our redevelopment works completed and the apartments ready to move in to. This really is a new level of city living, not just for Coventry, but for the wider region.”

With work on the apartments recently completed, a show apartment is now open for public viewings by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged online or by calling 0121 272 8373.

As part of our Directors’ Club, EDG Property will be helping to support the community, education and talent development initiatives which are at the heart of the Belgrade’s work. Our Directors’ Club offers a range of tailored benefits for Members, which many include features in show programmes, on digital screens around the theatres and online support, as well as exclusive invitations to VIP nights.

Belgrade Theatre Head of Development Helen Hotchkiss said: “As close neighbours to the Belgrade Theatre, EDG Property is a natural fit for our Directors’ Club, and we’re thrilled to have them on board. Much like the Theatre, EDG has been undertaking an ambitious redevelopment project to help ensure the city looks its best in time for 2021, so it makes perfect sense for us to mutually support each other’s efforts.

“EDG have been particularly generous donors, going above and beyond to help ensure our vital work in the community can continue, and we’re hugely grateful for their help. As a registered charity, we’re reliant on Members, partners and other funders to support programmes such as our youth drama groups, our Arts Gymnasium groups for over 50s, and our range of talent development schemes, nurturing the next generation of theatre-makers and performers. At a time when budgets are increasingly stretched, support from companies like EDG is invaluable.”
