Watch - In our own words: Festival of Theatre by Young People, for Young People

Posted on 23 June 2015

With just under a month until the launch of our July Festival of Theatre by and for Young People, our young participants are currently working flat out to bring their stories to the stage. From radicalisation to youth protest, falling in love to forgetting, this 12-day festival will see participants from the Belgrade Theatre’s seven community groups come together to perform a series of exciting new works created in association with some of the UK’s top theatre practitioners including Frantic Assembly, Vamos Theatre, curious directive and Newcastle’s Gateway Studio Project.

As well as showcasing work by our own community and education groups, we’ll also be welcoming visiting Youth Theatre groups from across the UK including Bristol Old Vic’s Propolis Theatre, Bulwell Youth Theatre, EGO Performance Company and Highly Sprung.

You can find out more about some of the exciting new works we’ll be showcasing as part of the July Festival by watching our trailer below.

Tickets for all events are priced according to a ‘Pay What You Can Scheme’. All monies raised will go towards supporting the Belgrade’s work within the community. For more information about the festival, visit www.inspiringcuriosity.co.uk
