Posted on 21 December 2015

After several sell-out Belgrade productions of One Night in November, we are delighted to offer you the chance to own your own copy of the show on DVD. For only £10, you can purchase this piece of Coventry’s history to watch in the comfort of your own home.

Coventry is one of England’s greatest cities with a long history that is known the world over. One Night in November brings to vivid life a key moment in its history – the night of 14th November 1940. Powerfully told through the eyes of young Katie, a headstrong 18 year old, whose chance encounter at a railway station with Michael, an Oxford tutor deployed to Bletchley Park, is the start of a romance that is anything but straightforward.

This moving story about the Coventry Blitz and the spirit that sees the City then rise from the ashes received an overwhelming response from audiences and critics alike. It played to packed houses on four different occasions between 2008 and 2013. The Belgrade is proud to present the DVD of the live 2013 version, filmed during a public performance at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry.

“…a stunning evocation of the Coventry Blitz…”
The Guardian, 2008

“It’s a masterpiece … It works on all levels, as a piece of local history, as a love story, and more importantly an indictment to mankind’s perpetual need for conflict on a global scale.”
BBC Coventry & Warwickshire website, 2008
