Community Festival - In Our Own Words
Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre is known the world over for pioneering the Theatre in Education movement and in April 2008 it proved it remains a leader in that field by hosting In Our Own Words, its first ever festival of theatre by and for young people.
The festival line-up included a play for 7 - 13 year olds called The First Time I Saw Snow, which was performed by three professional actors and had also been on a highly successful two-week Theatre in Education tour of local schools.
Look Twice was a new show from the Belgrade’s ground-breaking Acting Out project and The Last Heroes, a co-production with Coventry-based artists, Talking Birds, which was sponsored by the Heritage Lottery Fund and performed by members of various Belgrade Youth Theatre groups.
The festival also featured the premiere of a new film created by the Belgrade’s Acting Up group, called Dockers (pictured below).

The Belgrade Theatre has joined up with Warwick Arts Centre and around 200 other theatres in the country to offer you a choice of truly great nights out at the theatre, and if you're under 26, it's absolutely free!
Tickets for this year's panto are flying out of the doors, so don't delay to secure your family's Christmas treat!
