How far do you stretch yourself as a poet? John McCullough’s workshop will encourage you to engage in thematic and formal departures, asking participants to begin poems from a range of surprising angles. We’ll discuss areas like reading and writing outside your comfort zone, experimenting with lines and stanzas, and radical editing.

John McCullough lives in Hove. His book of poems, Reckless Paper Birds, was published with Penned in the Margins and won the 2020 Hawthornden Prize for Literature as well as being shortlisted for the Costa Poetry Award. His new collection with Penned, Panic Response, explores personal and cultural anxiety, and the ways people respond. It includes Flower of Sulphur, shortlisted for the 2021 Forward Prize for Best Single Poem.

Once you have booked for this event you will receive an e-ticket from the Belgrade Theatre with your Zoom link. Please do check your spam/junk folders.
