Join us for an evening event that celebrates the power of poetry to bring us together – and poetry as a force for community and connection.

Jacob Sam-La Rose’s writing has been characterised as vivid, masterly and carefully structured. He is widely recognised as an indefatigable facilitator, mentor and supporter of young and emerging poets. Jacob is also an editor, teacher, performer, and author of Breaking Silence (Bloodaxe) and will share his poems in this special event, interspersed with conversation with host Jill Abram (poet and director of the renowned Malika’s Poetry Kitchen Collective) about why he writes poems, and which poets have been inspirations, mentors and guiding lights for him.

We’ll explore the value of community about how you create space for other poets and creatives and lift up new voices. Our headline event will also be interwoven with spotlight performances from some of the talented up and coming poets from a new Coventry poetry collective – Lewis Driver, Meg Waters and Alice Richmond.

An uplifting, joyful event, not to be missed!
