A new online resource to aid pupils' transition from Primary to Secondary school.
It’s been a strange and uncertain year. It feels like Mo has spent more time at home in his bedroom than at school with his friends.
Just as things feel like they’re getting back to normal, Mum starts talking about ‘big school’ and how exciting it’s going to be. Problem is, Mo’s not too sure. What if he can’t remember how to make new friends? Or there’s too much homework? And don’t even mention the stories about bullies.
Mo’s going to need your help to be ready for the changes ahead…
New school. New teachers. And one giant blazer.
From the team that created Big School: Room to Grow, comes a brand new video resource, designed especially for remote engagement, that will support your class to explore their feelings about the move to secondary school, and help to equip them with useful strategies for dealing with issues of transition.
The programme combines theatre and storytelling with activities that promote reflection, resilience and independent learning. All activities are facilitated by the Belgrade’s team of experienced theatre-in-education practitioners, who’ll guide your class through the story, and set creative challenges for your learners to respond to.
The workshop will be available to schools from mid-June until the end of July, at a fee of £50 per school, which entitles you to watch on as many devices as you want. And provides the flexibility for you to engage as and when you need.
