Belgrade Associate Artist Joe Harmston explores the art of directing in a new podcast series
With lots of us faced with time to fill at home, lockdown can be a great opportunity for learning – something that our Associate Director Joe Harmston is tapping into with his new podcast series.
As a writer and director, Joe has been making shows around the world since the early 1990s, and his SoundCloud series Making the Icons, is a no-nonsense journey through the craft of directing for theatre, with new episodes published every weekday.
“Lockdown has led to a lot of unexpected occurrences. The latest is my foray into podcasting about the craft of theatre directing,” he said. “Each one is 4-7 minutes long and is intended to be a journey through the world of theatre directing for anyone from those wanting to kill some time to young directors seeking detailed insight into the job.”
