Saturday Shout Out: Electric Zoo zero-emission deliveries

Electric Zoo deliver essential supplies to vulnerable people in the community

This week’s Saturday Shout Out goes to Electric Zoo, a locally based, independent electric car manufacturer and supporter of the Belgrade Theatre.

During the lockdown, Electric Zoo have been doing their bit to help out by delivering essential supplies to some of the most vulnerable members of the community. Working with Warwick District Council, members of the team have volunteered their time to prepare food packages and deliver them to people across Warwickshire who are unable to shop for themselves.

Not only this, but the company has also been supporting local NHS services by delivering urgent medical supplies, completely free of charge. Recently, Electric Zoo staff drove their Tesla Model 3 to London to pick up PPE face shields being produced quickly by Martin Wiesner in response to the surge in demand across the country. The equipment was then safely delivered to a centre in Warwick ready for sanitising, before being used by NHS staff in Warwickshire.

When faced with a crisis as huge as a pandemic, it’s easy to forget the other challenges that the world is simultaneously facing, such as the ongoing climate emergency. As such, it’s great to see Electric Zoo supporting local people in need while continuing to fulfil their environmental responsibilities with zero-emission, electric car deliveries.

“At a time when we all need help, Electric ZOO are proud to be offering that extra helping hand to a group of volunteers called the Kenilworth Covid-19 team. It is great how the community can come together in this hour of need and provide a seamless service to the point of delivery.”
