May Half Term Family Fun

Join us at the Belgrade Theatre for three action-packed days of free family fun, creativity, and hands-on workshops this May half term, including:

Action Art Play:

Fri 30 May: 11am, 12 noon, 2pm, & 4pm, Screen Room

Sat 31 May: 10am, 12 noon, 2pm, & 3pm, Screen Room

Part workshop, part exhibition, Action Art Play blooms with the creative energy of children and their grown-ups, helping little ones get active and engage their imaginations. Participants will play the ‘Meadow Maker’ game, where they’ll create and move around nature-themed art to produce an interactive and ever expanding installation, while blossoming in happiness and confidence.

A total of eight 40-minute sessions will take place, which can be booked by clicking on your preferred time above.

 

Family Games Workshop: 

Fri 30 May: 11am-12 noon, Weston Learning Space*(please see note below)

Enjoy a fun-filled session of practical games, led by one of our experienced facilitators. This workshop is designed for families to participate and play together- ideal for parents, carers and children aged 5+. Adults must stay with their child throughout.  Although there is no cost for this session, it must be booked in advance using the link HERE.

 

Drama Workshop Tater Session (ages 8-12):

Fri 30 May: 2.30pm, Weston Learning Space*(please see note below)

Is your child interested in acting? Do they enjoy using their imagination and meeting new people? This free taster session offers young people aged 8–12 the chance to dive into fun, practical drama activities, all led by experienced facilitators. It’s a great opportunity to see if one of our in-house drama classes or Summer School programme are the right fit for your child. No previous experience is needed, and parents do not need to stay during the session.Although there is no cost for this session, it must be booked in advance using the link HERE.

 

Rhymetime:

Thu 29 May: 12.30pm, Burbidge Room

Join us for Coventry Library Services’ Rhymetime, the perfect session to encourage fun and engaging language use in toddlers.

 

Storytime:

Sat 31 May: 12 noon, Burbidge Room

Let the magic of words transport you and your little ones to another world during Storytime, led by the Coventry Library Service– a great start to the weekend.

 

Nature Makers:

Fri 30 May: 11am-3pm, Burbidge Foyer

Sat 31 May: 11am-3pm, Burbidge Foyer

Find calm and get creative with nature themed arts & crafts at our Nature Makers drop-in session. No booking is needed – just bring your imagination and your love for all things outdoors!

 

Sling Library:

Thu 29 May: 12 noon-2pm, Screen Room

Coventry Sling Library is committed to providing safe and unbiased help for parents and caregivers wishing to carry their children. Join us as we promote the benefits of babywearing across all ages , for both child and carer.

 

Stay and Play:

Thu 29 May: 12 noon-2pm, Screen Room

Imagine stepping into a warm, inviting space where everything is designed to spark curiosity and creativity. A session featuring  wooden toys, open-ended resources, and natural or recycled materials creates a calm, sensory-rich environment that encourages deep exploration and imaginative play.


 

Please Note: For all of the above events (except the Drama Workshop Taster), grown-ups must be present to supervise their children.


 

*Unfortunately our lift to areas above the first floor is currently out of service and is unlikely to be repaired until the end of June, as we need to wait for a specific part to arrive. If you’re booking for an event in the Weston Learning Space, please be aware that access will be via at least two short flights of stairs. The Screen Room, Burbidge Room and Burbidge Foyer all remain accessible via the lift. Thanks for your understanding.
