Since the Belgrade’s temporary closure, we’ve been taking great comfort from seeing so many of our friends, audiences and supporters reaching out to ask what they can do to help us.
As many of you know, the Belgrade Theatre is a registered charity (number 219163), providing a number of services to the community beyond the shows on our two stages. These include our many youth and community theatre groups, our talent development programmes, and our world-famous education work. Much of this is delivered for free, funded through a combination of donations, grants, and the money we make through ticket sales. However, with the closure of the theatre this week, we face a potential loss of over 70% of our usual income – income which is vital in enabling us to deliver these projects in Coventry and beyond, as well as to creating and putting on a wide range of performances.
The good news is that there are LOTS of ways that you can help us out at this challenging time, and many of them come with benefits to you as well!
Make a donation
The first thing that we are asking people to do is to consider making a donation. If you’ve booked for a cancelled performance, you may find that you’ve been issued with an automatic refund – so please do keep checking your account for this. Because our box office is currently extremely busy, we’re asking people not to call us about refunds or donations at the moment, but if you would like to donate to the Belgrade, you can do so online here. All donations will go to support the work of the Belgrade Theatre.
Become a My Belgrade Member
Another way you can support us is by becoming a My Belgrade Member. Basic, bronze-level membership costs only £30 for the year, and entitles you to priority booking for all of our shows, as well as 5% off your purchase when you pay for a subscription (booking for 3 or more shows together). With our Autumn/Winter Season scheduled to go on sale very soon, this is a great way to give yourself something to look forward to once things have returned to normal.
Treat someone to a Gift Voucher or Gift Membership
Gift Vouchers and Gift Memberships are also a fantastic way to support us, and gives your loved ones a choice of how they use your gift once the theatre has reopened. To account for the time that the building is shut, we’ve extended the validity of existing vouchers for a further 12 months. All newly purchased vouchers will be valid for two years.

If you’re not in a position to spend or donate, you can still help us out by signing up to our mailing list. By signing up to receive information from us via post and email, you’ll be making sure that we can get in touch to invite you back to the Belgrade as soon as we’re open to the public again. You’ll also receive exclusive special offers and all our latest news, including details of our forthcoming Autumn Season.
