Iain Lauchlan, Craig Hollingsworth and friends present an online preschool channel
With our full Autumn 2020 Season now on sale, lots of you will already be looking forward to the return of Iain Lauchlan and Craig Hollingsworth in this year’s Christmas panto Beauty and the Beast.
But if you can’t wait that long for your next fix of their comedy antics, there’s another way that you can follow their work online during the lockdown.
As you may know, our regular panto Dame, writer and director has a pretty impressive track record in kids’ TV having created the likes of The Tweenies, Wibbly Pig and Boo, and worked on several other successful titles like Playschool, Playdays, Fun Song Factory and Fingermouse.
Drawing on his years of expertise as a children’s entertainer, he has now set up his own preschool-friendly YouTube channel, Cheeky Chimps TV.
Aimed at kids aged 0-6, the channel currently features six different programmes, with episodes being posted to the Cheeky Chimps Facebook page every weekday during the lockdown. Shows include Magical Musical Market, Read Me a Story, Silly Science, Make it, Fun Songs to Sing and Jokes in the Jungle.
As well as Iain himself, the channel’s presenters include a number of faces that panto-goers will recognise, including regular comic Craig Hollingsworth, choreographer Jenny Phillips, and sometime star Vicky Field, who most recently appeared at the Belgrade as the villainous Grunge in Sleeping Beauty.
You can watch a trailer for the show below. For more information, visit the Cheeky Chimps TV website, or to make sure you don’t miss an episode, subscribe to their YouTube channel or Facebook page for updates.
This year’s sparkling Christmas panto retells a tale as old as time with all crazy costumes, hilarious gags and thrilling adventure that make our annual pantomimes an unmissable festive treat.
