Work Opportunities

There are plenty of different ways to get involved with the Belgrade Theatre with a variety of career opportunities in both creative and administrative departments as well as in training and development.

There are many jobs ‘behind the scenes’ that go into running the theatre. The building is staffed from 6.30am to midnight, Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sunday opening. It is publicly funded and exists to provide cultural services to the public, to make our own productions and present the work of other theatre companies.

It is an incredibly busy environment and it is safe to say that no job is quite the same as its counterpart outside the theatre.

Apart from the actors and directors, there are numerous jobs available such as:

Wood-working – costume-making – prop-making – scenic painting – drama worker – stage-management – lighting technician – marketing – events – conferencing – operations – box office – chef – bar worker – administrator – waiter – fund-raising – accounting.

We advertise all permanent jobs on the Theatre’s website. Where appropriate we may also place ads in the local or national press. We are always interested to hear from people who want to know about working as an usher or on the bars or as a casual stage worker.

The Belgrade has an Equalities Team which monitors and develops the work the theatre is doing surrounding equal opportunities in the work place and diversity of the work force.

Belgrade Production Services (BPS) Administrator & Accounts Assistant

The post holder will assist the Director of Production and Head of Belgrade Production Services (BPS), along with the BPS Head of Construction in the day-to-day running of BPS’s office and office functions, including issuing and coordinating all information required and received for BPS work. The post holder will also work as part of the Belgrade’s Accounts team, providing general finance data input. The main hours will be spent on BPS work.

This post will be based both at the Belgrade Theatre workshop on Red Lane in Coventry and at the main Belgrade Theatre building.

Disabled Dance Artist in Residency Opportunity – As Part off 11 Million Reasons to Dance

People Dancing and Belgrade Theatre are looking for a dance artist who identifies as having a disability or practitioner to work with Belgrade and Coventry partners to contribute to the ongoing delivery of a programme as part of People Dancing’s 11 Million Reasons to Dance project. Based at the Belgrade for select days between February and July 2018, the position will play an integral role in developing thinking around disability in the arts, and is an opportunity aimed at building an initial relationship with the Belgrade and Coventry partners.

Coventry City of Culture Trust – Creative Director and Executive Director

Coventry has been awarded the title of UK City of Culture 2021, following in the footsteps of Derry/Londonderry 2013 and Hull 2017.

Coventry City of Culture Trust, established in 2015, now wishes to appoint a Creative Director and Executive Director to move the project forward to the next stage.
